~Prayer For You~

Last night I heard a prayer, Pleading for you from a heart, That wanted your pain washed away, Didn't want you to be torn apart. She asked me to make you feel whole again, To take my love and draw near to you. You think that nobody cares, But last night, I heard a prayer for you.

Tim McGraw
Same old boySame sweet girlTen years down the roadHe held her tight and kissed her lipsIn front of the picture showStranger came and pulled a gunGrabbed her by the arm Said "If you do what I tell you to, therewon't be any harm" And Johnny said "Take my money, take my wallet, my credit cardsHere's the watch that my grandpa gave meHere's the key to my carMister give it a whirlBut please don't take the girl
Same old boySame sweet girlFive years down the road.
There's going to be a little one, and she says it's time to go.
Doctor says the baby's fine but you'll have to leave
'Cause his momma's fading fast and Johnny hit his knees
And there he prayedTake the very breath you gave me
Take the heart from my chestI'll gladly take her place
if you'll let meMake this my last requestTake me out of this world
God, please don't take the girl
Johnny's daddyWas taking him fishin'When he was eight years old

I love that song. The last verse always makes me want to cry.

Yeah it is a sad song, but its also sooooooo sweet. I actually thought it was sung by the same guy as "Check yes or no" but I was mistaken. lol. They sound so alike in those 2 songs. Tim McGraw and George Straight that is. Oh well.. both are very good songs in my opinion. :)
