sister Andrea and her husband Brad. They too took part in the Sheffield Conferance on Saturday, November 25, 2006. Well, sort of. They just came along since Mom and Dad were both there helping out and they didn't want to be left at home alone.
So the conference went well I'd say. I drove down with Rebecca and Carolyn and their cousin Jessica. What a drive that was. First the fog was so thick I could barely see the road signs and I had no clue where I was going. So that made it an adventure in it's self. Ok I have to admit that I was a speed deamon on the way up and down from the conference, but I really didn't want to be late. I was fortunate enough to not get stopped by a police officer :) We got there at 9:26 or so and everything didn't really start until 10 or so. So we would have had plenty of time. After a great seminar on "Echoes from the Human Heart" we broke off into discussion groups. From what I heard from others, that all had good groups and learned alot.
After that we stood around and talked while we waited for our pizza lunch. More standing around t alking while eating lunch..and then we had our car rally. I joined a bunch of girls who I didn't know, except Deanna. We ended up coming in 1st place. That was shocking since we had no clue where we were or anything. A big thanks to Rachel who joined our team and had a great sense of direction.. (I guess it helps to live in Sheffield) Another big thanks out to Jennifer our team leader, driver, and photographer :)
It was a lot of fun. I was the daring one on the team which was called, "Five Crazy Girls in a Car", and I sat on a horse (first time) while having a picture taken.
The day was ended when everyone went to dinner at a resturant of their choice. Afterwards meeting back at the church for a time of praise and worship. Yes, I had to admit the Nobleton YPs were bad and skipped out on that part since we went to the mall to eat and then watched figure skating that was going on for a fundraiser for AIDS. Tired as we were we decided to go back home. Somehow I made it home before 10 which was nice since I didn't leave Cambridge Mall till after 7 and still had to drop off the girls at differnt houses.
Well that sums up the day..if you missed out on it..
